General Assembly is just around the corner and hotel rooms will be hard to find. MORE in the PCA was unable to get a block of rooms for our Elders going to the 2023 General Assembly. That means that our elders will need to make hotel reservations BEFORE their Sessions have designated them as commissioners and BEFORE MORE in the PCA has reviewed that elder’s application for assistance.

At some time in the near future, the Administrative Committee will open registration for GA commissioners on this website. The AC promises to provide hotel information once people register for GA. So, presumably, elders will be able to make hotel reservations at that time.

We are hoping that our 2023 applicants will already have a hotel reservation when they apply for assistance from MORE in the PCA. If such assistance is approved, MORE will send funds to cover lodging expenses before General Assembly.

If you think you may be sent to GA as a commissioner, we are recommending that you make a hotel reservation as soon as possible. (Note that in past years, the entire block of rooms at the convention center hotel has been booked up within the first few days. And, note also that only the hotel at the convention site will be convenient to General Assembly in the Memphis June heat.)

Finally, note that if it doesn’t work out — if your Session does not decide to send you to GA or if MORE in the PCA cannot reimburse you for your hotel stay — you are likely to be able to cancel the hotel reservation without penalty (but make sure to check the cancellation policy when you make your reservation).

Stay vigilant … in the pews, in the courts of the church, and in your newsfeeds to get a hotel reservation!
